DOT SAP Services
DOT Substance Abuse Professional Evaluations & Return to Duty Services
As a qualified DOT Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), I provide confidential evaluations and guidance for employees who have violated a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol regulation. SAP services are designed to help individuals meet federal compliance requirements while supporting accountability, recovery, and a safe return to work.
I work with safety-sensitive employees across DOT regulated industries, including transportation, trucking, aviation, transit, pipeline, railroad, and maritime professions.
What is a SAP?
A Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a specially trained and credentialed provider authorized under DOT regulations to assess employees following a positive drug or alcohol test, refusal to test, or other DOT drug and alcohol violation. The SAP process is required before an employee can return to safety-sensitive duties.
The SAP’s role is to:
Conduct a comprehensive clinical evaluation
Recommend education and/or treatment
Monitor compliance with recommendations
Determine readiness for return-to-duty testing
Provide follow-up testing recommendations in accordance with DOT regulations
Facing a DOT violation can feel overwhelming and stressful. My approach is professional, nonjudgemental, and focused on helping individuals understand the process clearly while meeting all federal requirements.
Return-to- Duty Documentation
Required DOT SAP reports and documentation are completed promptly and professionally for employers, DERs, consortiums, and third party administrators.
Follow-up Testing Plans
Development of federally compliant follow-up testing schedules as required by DOT regulations.
